SIMONE HÄBERLING - CEO | OWNER
Simone Häberling was born in Zurich in 1976. After completing her foundation studies in German literature, film studies and art history, she founded her own production company, Presence Production GmbH, in Zurich in 2003.
From 2003 to 2006, Häberling was responsible for child casting, production coordination and publicity on the successful feature film «Mein Name ist Eugen». This inspired her to establish the non-profit association filmkids.ch – a film school for children and young people – in 2007.
She also produced This Lüscher’s short film «AlpTraum», which won the Prix du Pathé. Two television documentaries followed. She also worked as a production manager on theatre projects by the collective 400asa.
From 2008 to 2012, Häberling worked as a junior producer at Kontraproduktion AG on the feature films «Sennentuntschi» and «Das Missenmassaker».
Alongside her production work, she completed a master’s degree in Arts Management at ZHAW in 2009.
From 2013 to 2017, she collaborated with 400asa and Samuel Schwarz on the transmedia theatre project «Der Polder – Das Game» and served as a producer on «Der Polder – der Film». In 2016, she and 400asa received the Federal Office of Culture’s theatre award for innovative storytelling.
In 2017, she produced the youth feature film «The Real Thing» with Presence Production GmbH and filmkids.ch. The film premiered at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival that year.
In 2018, Simone Häberling founded SFS-SwissFilmSchool. In 2023, she launched «Filmjahr», a year-long preparatory course for film and drama schools for young people aged 15 to 20.
Since then, Simone Häberling and This Lüscher have produced five short films. One of them, «Aminata» by emerging Swiss-Senegalese filmmaker Djibril Vuille, received an award at the Zurich Film Awards in 2023.
Two transmedia series for young audiences followed: Ralph Etter’s 500-episode «Becoming Momo» and «Lost in Paradise», a 35-part documentary series by Sira Topic and Ralph Etter.
Stascha Bader’s music documentary «Das Geheimnis von Bern» and Ralph Etter’s coming-of-age feature «Wyld» were released in cinemas in 2025.
THIS LÜSCHER - WRITER | DIRECTOR | PRODUCER
This Lüscher (1969) grew up in Zurich and moved to Amsterdam at the age of 23 to study directing at the Netherlands Film Academy. He also became a Dutch citizen. He graduated in 1998 with the award-winning music film «Off Beat», for which he composed the jazz score. After composing music for more than 30 short films and commercials and recording two soundtracks for Family Music and Sony Music, Lüscher put his music career on hold in 2007 to pursue his passion for storytelling and film directing.
After working on various film and television productions in the Netherlands, Lüscher shifted his focus to Switzerland, where he directed his first feature film, «Ferienfieber», in 2004. During the 2000s, he made six short films, including the multi-award-winning football fairy tale «Alp-Traum», and directed 50 episodes of the Swiss television series «Best Friends».
In the 2010s, he discovered his love of documentary filmmaking, directing the sports documentary «Hoselupf – oder wie man ein Böser wird», which received several nominations, as well as three arts documentaries for Swiss broadcaster SRF.
In 2015, Wolfram Berger won the Best Actor award in Montreal for his performance in Lüscher’s most recent feature, the tragicomedy «Rider Jack». A Swiss Film Award nomination for Best Actor followed in March 2016. In 2017, Lüscher directed three episodes of the sixth season of SRF’s crime series «Der Bestatter», exploring its darkly comic world.
That same year, he and Simone Häberling produced the multi-genre youth feature «The Real Thing», which premiered at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in 2017.
Since then, the couple have produced five short films. One of them, «Aminata» by emerging Swiss-Senegalese filmmaker Djibril Vuille, received an award at the Zurich Film Awards in 2023.
Two crossmedia series for young audiences followed: Ralph Etter’s 500-episode «Becoming Momo» and «Lost in Paradise», a 35-part documentary series by Sira Topic and Ralph Etter.
Stascha Bader’s music documentary «Das Geheimnis von Bern» and Ralph Etter’s coming-of-age feature «Wyld» were released in cinemas in 2025.
Lüscher’s films combine a light touch with depth, exploring social issues and identity as well as sport, the arts, childhood and adolescence.
